Re: Should employers give a cost of living increase?

I have to say that the increase in the cost of gas has made my drive to work much more difficult. People may say that it would be better for me to get a car with better gas mileage, but I don't have the funds to do that. My drive to work takes nearly an hour, and currently, my husband and I are able to carpool, but that may not always be the case. I guess that I feel that employers should take this into consideration and I think that a cost of living increase would be appropriate. I am wondering what other people think.
